Piano Concert with Sorin

Sorin Creciun will delight the audience with transcriptions, improvisations, and his fantastical interpretations as he delves into a repertoire spanning jazz and the classics to deliver a unique and virtuosic performance.

Moldavian wine and hearty snacks will be served with the concert.

Sorin Creciun is a concert pianist, composer, chamber musician, teacher and accompanist. In addition to his pianistic concert activities, he orchestrates and writes his own transcriptions for piano and symphonic orchestra, such as the concert waltz Spring Voices (op. 410) by Johann Strauss (son) or the Waltz from Masquerade by Aram Khachaturian, or works of Errol Garner, Art Tatum, Pink Floyd or Michael Jackson. His interpretations are celebrated worldwide for their intellectual depth and musical freedom.

Creciun was born in the Republic of Moldova and has German citizenship. Until 2009 he studied at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, Germany. As the child of music-loving parents, he showed exceptional musical talent at an early age. A pedagogical line can be traced back to Joseph Haydn via his piano professor Georg Sava at the School of Music Berlin (student of Gheorghe Halmos – Emil von Sauer – Franz Liszt). Sorin passed his concert exam with distinction and grade 1. He has won a number of international piano competitions. Concerts followed in Italy, Austria, South Korea, China, France, Spain, Romania, Italy, USA and Japan, among others. But also in Germany, Sorin has already played in the big concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, Die Glocke Bremen or the Prinzregententheater Munich. Sorin speaks German, Romanian, Russian, English, is improving his French and is learning Mandarin & Spanish.
