Melodies of the Infinite Steppe – The Sounds of Kazakhstan

Immerse yourself in the fascinating sounds of Kazakhstan: The orchestra „Dina Nurpeissova“ will perform and display the diversity of Kazakh national instruments featuring the dombyra, kobys, bass kobys, prima kobys, viola kobys, kyl kobys, dombyra contrabass and bass dombyra.

Founded in 1957 in the Atyrau region of western Kazakhstan, Dina Nurpeissova is one of the oldest orchestras in the country. The orchestra has fostered a diverse repetoire throughout its existence comprising over 800 musical works. The musicians from the Atyrau region in Western Katakhstan are famous for their authentic and masterful performance of ancient Kazakh works and classical world music on national instruments.

The concert program includes works by great composers such as Mozart and Strauss, as well as highlighting ancient and beautiful compositions and songs by Turkezh Kalkauly, Abai Qunanbaiuly, Kurmangasy Sagyrbajuly, Nurgissa Tlendiyev and Jeskendir Hasangaliyev.
